Meet Kylie
After graduating from University of Technology Sydney, with a Bachelor of Design, I fell into the book publishing industry by accident and decided I loved it. The first book project I worked on was amazing. It was a very creative series of books and included conceptualising complex illustrations for a children’s non-fiction series.
Since then I’ve spend more than twenty years in international book publishing, specialising in full-colour, illustrated and photographic book production from concept development and project establishment through design, pre-press and printing processes.
I’ve worked in the subject areas of cooking, gardening, lifestyle, health, travel, natural history, history, architecture, science and children’s books.
I was Senior Designer at Weldon Owen Publishing and Reader’s Digest and was Art Director at Global Book Publishing, all Sydney based companies.
For the past fifteen years I’ve worked freelance, often still working with book publishers and more recently I have been designing publications for not-for-profit organisations and government agencies, and creating marketing material for a local school.
I love designing things—don’t we all. I also enjoy learning new things, including designing my new website! If you’ve got a job in mind—big or small, I’d love to hear from you.
